Digital Production Challenge II to take place soon in Lisbon

The Digital Production Challenge II is a multi-disciplinary initiative that opens its doors to filmmakers, cinematographers, sales agents, distributors and producers from all over the world, with priority given to producers, line producers, production managers and post-production supervisors working on feature, documentary and cross-media projects.

The upcoming edition will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 30 November-3 December 2016. It will be run in English and is headed up by a pool of professionals including Martin Hagemann, German producer at zero fiction (The Turin Horse [+see also:

Digital Production Challenge II is organised by FOCAL resource in co-operation with FOCAL, and with the support of Creative Europe MEDIA, a programme of the European Union, and it will focus on how to be digitally smart and benefit from the ever-changing developments in post-production. The event gives participants the methods and tools they need to become familiar with the main post-production workflows in the European market, and it teaches them how to reach the best positioning in the production of their feature or documentary film within the digital post-production workflow.

A mix of technical focuses, round tables, discussions on participants’ projects and case-study presentations (already confirmed is The Wave [+see also:

, with Norwegian cinematographer John Christian Rosenlund as the main speaker) will aim to allow the participants to gain a better grasp of tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.

During this four-day workshop, there will be lessons about communication and optimisation of the division of tasks between the many collaborators involved, from the director to the many post-production providers. Participants will discuss the importance of archiving, and the advantages and disadvantages of digital distribution.
