Chaired by Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar (read the news), the complete line-up of the competition jury for the 70th Cannes Film Festival (17-28 May) has now been revealed, and it will comprise a total of nine members.

In it we find four women, with German filmmaker Maren Ade, US actress Jessica Chastain, Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, as well as French actress-director Agnès Jaoui. Ade, Chastain and Fan are also producers.

Also due to be summoned to judge the 18 films (some additional features are expected to join them soon) in the running for the 2017 Palme d'Or (article) are Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, Korean director-producer Park Chan-wook, US actor Will Smith (who is also known for his musical outings) and French music composer Gabriel Yared.
