Following the unveiling of the members of the official competition jury for the 70th Cannes Film Festival (17-28 May), to be chaired by Pedro Almodóvar (see the news), the identities of the industry professionals on the three other official juries at this edition of the gathering have also been made public.

Tasked with assessing 18 titles this year, the Un Certain Regard jury, chaired by US actress Uma Thurman (see the news), will include French actor Reda Kateb, Belgian director Joachim Lafosse, his Egyptian colleague Mohamed Diab and Karel Och, the artistic director of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

Chaired by French actress Sandrine Kiberlain (see the news), the jury responsible for handing out the Caméra d'Or to a feature debut presented in the Official Selection, in the Critics’ Week or the Directors’ Fortnight, will comprise several other French professionals: actress Elodie Bouchez, director Guillaume Brac, DoP Patrick Blossier, critic Fabien Gaffez and Thibault Carterot (CEO of the post-production company M141). They will be backed up by Swiss producer Michel Merkt.

Lastly, the jury presided over by Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu, which will give out the Palme d’Or to one short film from among the nine titles selected in competition, and which will also judge the 16 films by film-school students presented in the Cinéfondation Selection, will include Greek director Athina Rachel Tsangari, French actress Clotilde Hesme, US filmmaker Barry Jenkins (who recently won an Oscar) and his Singaporean counterpart Eric Khoo.
