Written by Hervé Mimran with assistance from Hélène Fillières, and based on the autobiographical story J'étais un homme pressé by Christian Streiff (who was in charge of the car company PSA Peugeot Citroën in 2008 when the incident at the heart of his book occurred), the story revolves around Alain, a busy businessman who is always in a rush. In his life, there is no room for spare time or family. But one day, he suffers a stroke, which makes him lose his grasp of language and use one word in place of another. In hospital, he is looked after by Jeanne, a young speech therapist who helps him relearn the language and to be patient, much like a child. Alain comes to understand that, while he seems to have missed out on a sizeable chunk of his life, everything is still possible: from life’s simple pleasures to making up with his daughter.

Produced by Matthieu Tarot for Albertine ProductionsUn homme pressé is being co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Gaumont (which will take care of the French distribution and the international sales). Having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the film will be shot in Ile-de-France, with Jérôme Alméras (nominated for the Lumière Award in his category in 2014 for The French Minister [+see also:
