Wallimage has lined up a prestigious cast for its 85th edition. As well as the two star directors of European film, the Walloon investment fund will be funding a handful of European, and even Hollywood, stars.

Joachim Lafosse will be shooting his 8th feature film this autumn, Continuer, based on a book by Laurent Mauvignier, in which he will direct the one and only Virginie Efira, who was also interested in the book. The two Belgian professionals will be directing and starring in the odd story of a mother who leads her son on epic on horseback into the heart of the Kyrgyz mountains. Like the four previous films of the director, the film will be produced by Versus Production.

Another well-known European, Jacques Audiard, is getting ready to shoot his first English-language film, a period film moreover, as it’s going to be a western, The Sisters Brothers, with a cast featuring Joaquim Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal in the title roles, alongside John C. Reilly and Niels Arestrup. Once again, Les Films du Fleuve will be co-producing, along with Why Not.

Wallimage will also support two genre films: Mandy, the second feature film by Panos Cosmatos starring Nicolas Cage, filming on which is set to take place this summer in Belgium, in co-production with Umedia, and Irish film A Good Woman Is Hard to Find by Abner Pastoll, a new genre film for Frakas after the success of Raw [+see also:
