 revolves around a young girl who lives in a small town in Poland. She is kidnapped and taken to a brothel in Germany, but luckily she manages to escape and return home. However, the welcome she receives is far from warm, as the girl is ostracised by the local, conservative community.

The script was written by Katarzyna Terechowicz and Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, who also directed the film. The small cast of this Argomedia production includes Agnieszka Warchulska, Katarzyna Herman (from Tomasz Wasilewski’s Floating Skyscrapers [+see also:

) and a spectacular newcomer, Sandra Drzymalska, who has been awarded for her performances in short films during the Młodzi i Film Festival in Koszalin, Poland.

Back Home was shot on location in the Lower Silesia region and is expected to be finished by the end of 2017. Łazarkiewicz said in a press release that the first excerpts from her film will be presented during the sixth edition of the Polish Days (8-10 August), the annual industry event held as part of the 17th T-Mobile New Horizons Film Festival (3-13 August). Back Home is Łazarkiewicz’s sixth feature film, and she also works in television and theatre. Her son, Antoni Komasa-Łazarkiewicz, is a film-score composer (famous for Spoor [+see also:
