Written by the director and based on the book of the same name by Christophe Dufossé, the screenplay centres around Pierre Hoffman, who joins St Joseph’s College to stand in for a young French teacher who threw himself from the window of his classroom. But he soon starts noticing strange behaviour from his Year 10 class. Closely knit, abnormally well-disciplined and bright, these teenagers are an impenetrable block. Above all, they give off an air of hostility, a muffled violence that Pierre senses could become extreme and dangerous…

Produced by Caroline Bonmarchand for Avenue B Productions (which also worked with the director on Faultless), L’heure de la sortie has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and OCS, and has received support from the Ile-de-France region. The film will be distributed in French theatres by Haut et Court, and sales will be handled by Celluloïd Dreams.

Avenue B Productions is also currently in the post-production stages of Vierges, the debut feature by Keren Ben Rafael and a co-production between France, Israel and Belgium (Frakas Productions), with support most notably from Eurimages. The film will be released in France and sold internationally by Pyramide.
