True to its genre film-focused editorial policy, French international sales agent Reel Suspects (headed up by Matteo Lovadina) is about to hit the European Film Market at the 68th Berlin Film Festival (15-25 February) with a handful of titles that are sure to get pulses racing.

Standing out among them is the market premiere of the horror flick (with an added dash of comedy) Christmas Blood [+see also:

by Norway’s Reinert Kiil, who turned heads with his previous opus, The House [+see also:

. Starring Stig Henrik HoffMarte Sæteren and Sondre Krogtoft Larsen, the film revolves around a serial killer who has struck in Norway every Christmas for the last 13 years. This time, he turns his attention to the north of the country where, unfortunately, a group of friends has decided to go and spend the festive season in high spirits, oblivious to the danger looming over them. Meanwhile, investigators Rasch and Hansen are determined to apprehend the killer before he strikes again, but Christmas is fast approaching and time is running out… Christmas Blood, which was staged by Sanctum Film, was previously screened at the Night Visions Film Festival in Helsinki.

Three other market premieres are on the cards for the firm – namely, Nervous Translation by Japanese director of Filipino descent Shireen Seno (unveiled at Rotterdam), the South African contemporary western Five Fingers for Marseilles by Michael Matthews (which took part in the Toronto, London and Busan Film Festivals) and the Chilean horror film Trauma by Lucio A Rojas.

Also of note on Reel Suspects’ slate are the LGBT comedy My Life with James Dean by Dominique Choisy, and the US-French thriller The Strange Ones [+see also:
