The 68th Lolas-German Film Awards ceremony, which took place on Friday (27 April) at the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin in the presence of Minister of Culture and the Media Monika Grütters, and which was broadcast live on ARD, saw 3 Days in Quiberon [+see also:

 by Emily Atef emerge victorious. The movie scooped seven prizes in total (out of its ten nominations – see the article), including the Golden Lola for Best Film, which was handed to producer Karsten Stöter, of Rohfilm Factory.

The beautiful black-and-white work, which follows the story of the last interview given by Romy Schneider through a series of charming and moving scenes that give an insight into both the star’s verve and her frailty, earned the Berlin-based French-Iranian director (whom we have to thank for titles such as The Stranger in Me [+see also:

) the Best Director Award. The film also excelled in the acting categories: lead actress Marie Bäumer, whose features and mannerisms blend disturbingly into those of the character she is playing, snagged the award in her respective category, as did her colleague Birgit Minichmayr for her role as the protective best friend, while Robert Gwisdek did so for his role as the snoopy journalist. Lastly, this co-production with France and Austria was also rewarded for its cinematography and music. However, 3 Days in Quiberon, which was in competition at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, was not the only Berlin competition selection to win renown at the Lolas: In the Aisles [+see also:
