The forthcoming Toronto Film Festival (4-13 September) will host a strong Belgian contingent. The line up includes Thomas de Thier entitled Des Plumes dans la tête [+see also:

, selected for Visions. The film was well received when it premiered at the last edition of Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, Des Plumes de la tête is about the way in which a couple deals with the death of their son and is set in a small town in Walloon.
The cast includes Sophie Musier, Francis Renaud, Ulysse de Swaef, Alexis Den Doncker, Colette Emmanuelle and Bouli Lanners. The film was co-produced by Belgium's Magellan Productions and France's JBA Production, and will have its domestic release early in 2004 by courtesy of Cinéart.
The Discovery section includes Jeux d’enfants [+see also:

, Yann Samuel's directorial debut that was produced by Belgium's Artemis and France's Nord-Ouest Production. The story is about Sophie and Julien who are both victims and killers. The cast also includes Guillaume Canet, Marion Cotillard, Manuela Sanchez and Philippe Drecq.

Two more Belgian films were selected for Contemporary World Cinema: Depuis qu'Otar est parti by Julie Bertucelli (co-produced with Entre Chien et Loup) and Stormy Weather [+see also:

by Solveig Anspach (co-produced by Les Films du Fleuve).
Mille Mois by Faouzi Bensaidi will screen in Planet Africa. Co-produced by Belgium's Entre Chien et Loup, France's Gloria Films and Marocco's Agora Films, Mille Mois will be out in Belgium on 21 January 2004 by courtesy of Lumière.
The Five Obstructions a Belgian co-production directed by Lars von Trier and Joergen Leth, will screen in Reel-to-Reel.
