All-star cast for Berri
by Fabien Lemercier
22/12/2003 - A quartet of great actors for the upcoming film by director-producer Claude Berri, L'un reste, l'autre part. The two couples whose vicissitudes fuel this tale are in fact Daniel Auteuil-Charlotte Gainsbourg and Nathalie Baye-Pierre Arditi.
Nothing seems to be able to stop Claude Berri. Following his nomination to the Presidency of the French Cinethèque last September 30th and his intensive work on this latest production on behalf of his companyHirsch, entitled Ils se marièrent et eurent beaucoup d'enfants by Yvan Attal, the cineast decided to return behind the camera a year after his last full-length film Une femme de ménage. L'un part, l'autre reste, written by Berri himself, is a bittersweet romantic comedy concerning the intrigues of sentiment and love.
At 69, Claude Berri is one of the leading celebrities of French cinema, as well as having conquered an impressive reputation as a producer capable of financing films, thanks to his winning formula that unites Hirsch, Pathé Renn Productions and TF1 Films Productions.
Not to mention box office figures that further confirm the extraordinary vitality and economic results drawn by 2003 and 2002 productions:Les Sentiments by Noémie Lvosky (1,1 milioni di spettatori), Le bison byIsabelle Nanty (550 thousand viewers in France), Une femme de ménage (874 thousand), Amen by Costa Gavras (1.3 million) and the blockbuster Astérix and Obélix: Mission Cleopatra (14.4 million).
