Once Upon A Time In Habana

After São Paulo in October, the Coordination for European Festivals lands in America with European films in its bags for the 27th Havana International Festival which starts on Monday and goes through to the 16th December. This will be the last lap in a tour of the world, an initiative supported by the MEDIA Programme, which targets the facilitation of the access for local professionals to the latest European productions by accompanying the films at press screenings at festivals and meetings with the authors.

A fine panorama of European films has reached Havana, with six films from the four corners of the Old Continent, starting with One Day in Europe by Hannes Störh (read interview) who will be there to meet the public. The second feature from Danish Simon Staho (read interview) Bang Bang Ourangutang will be represented by its producer Cinevita Film Compagny. Finally, two films arrive from the Iberian Peninsula with their directors : Fragíl, fourth feature by Spaniard Juanma Bajo Ulloa, and Fado Blues by Portuguese Luis Galvaõ Teles, sold internationally by its Luxembourg co-producer Samsa Film.

After Honk Kong, Singapore, New Delhi and São Paulo, the Coordination for European Festivals will have managed to present thirty films from almost the whole of Europe.
