Titanic 13 on the waves

Kicking off today in Budapest is the Titanic 13 (March 30-April 9), the main Hungarian festival of independent film.

The event will screen over 50 films and features a first-ever competition of nine films, four of which are European productions: Adam and Paul from Ireland’s Lenny Abrahamson, La trahison [+see also:

With films showing in the Kossuth cinemas, Uránia Nemzeti Filmszínház, Toldi and the Örökmozgó, this year the event also includes a retrospective on Belgian filmmakers Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne, thanks to a Cirko Film - Másképp Alapítvány competition.

The section "Elements of Crime" will allow Hungarian film lovers to discover many European directors, including Italy’s Stefano Mordini (Smalltown, Italy, in competition at Berlin in 2005) and UK producer Stephen Woolley’s directorial debut Stoned.

The line-up also includes a panorama of French cinema, with Gamblers [+see also:
