Six European films hit screens

15/06/2006 - Six European titles, including two artistic gems, German title Sound of Eternity (Klang der Ewigkeit) and Austrian co-production Kippenberger: The Film, will battle it out with four US features on German screens starting today.
Sound of Eternity, from scriptwriter, director and producer Bastian Clevé and distributed by Kinostar, follows the existential, metaphysical and emotional meditations of Jean Sébastien Bach (Axel Ganz). The film, produced by B+C Filmproduktion and CP Medien, comprises 27 short independent films organised as movements of a masterpiece of baroque music.
Kippenberger: The Film, by Jörg Kobel, was produced by Cologne-based Barbarossafilm in co-production with Austria and distributed by RealFiction. The documentary pays homage to the artist Martin Kippenberger, who died aged 44 in 1997, following a distinguished career in the 1970s highlighted by his inventiveness and his predilection for installations and happenings.
Meanwhile, 3Rosen is distributing Stoned, a UK drama that is also the directorial debut of producer Stephen Woolley (Backbeat). German audiences can also discover the Palio horse race in The Last Victory, a Dutch documentary by John Appel distributed by Salzgeber, as well as two French productions: To Paint Or Make Love [trailer, film focus] by the Larrieu brothers (distr. Prokino Filmverleih) and Night Watch [trailer] by Edgardo Cozarinsky, co-produced with Argentina (distr. Salzgeber & Co. Medien ).
