Swiss out in force at Namur

27/09/2006 - No less than ten Swiss shorts and features have been selected for the 21st Namur Francophone Film Festival, taking place in Belgium from September 29-October 6.
The debut feature by young documentary filmmaker Jean-Stéphane Bron, My Brother Is Getting Married [trailer, film focus], is competing in official competition, as well as in the Junior and Emile Cantillon sections.
In the documentary category, Geisendorf by Frédéric Baillif (Point Prod. Sàrl) and La petite dame du Capitole by Jacqueline Veuve (Aqua Aquarius Film) are competing for the Bayard d’Or.
Two other documentaries – White Terror by Daniel Schweizer and A la recherche d’Else (lit. "Searching for Elsa") by Sandy Kopitopoulos and Daniel Maurer – are being screened in competition, as are the features Jeune homme [trailer] (lit. "Young Man") by Christoph Schaub and On Fire [trailer] by France’s Claire Simon (a Vega Film co-production), presented in the Panorama sidebar.
One Swiss film has also been chosen for the 3rd Francophone Production Forum, Being Laden by Laurent Nègre, who recently won the Best Feature Film Award at the Acadie International Francophone Film Festival for his debut film Fragile [trailer].
