Emma's Bliss and the others

25/10/2006 - German film Emma's Bliss [trailer] by Sven Taddicken received two awards at the 14th Hamptons International Film Festival, which ended last Sunday. The audience chose it as the festival’s Best Feature Film while Ruth Toma and Claudia Schreiber won the Zicherman Family Award for Best Screenwriter for their script adaptation of Schreiber’s eponymous novel.

Mirjam Kubescha took home the Audience Award of the Vienna International Film Festival (October 13-25) for her documentary Balordi, a German/Italian co-production.

At the 33rd Flanders Film Festival (October 10-21) the youth jury awarded the Mine Xplore Award to Anders Morgenthaler’s animated film Princess [trailer], a Danish/German co-production.

The Live of Others [trailer, film focus] by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck won the People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Film at the 25th Vancouver International Film Festival (September 28-October 13).

Documentary filmmakers Florian Borchmeyer and Matthias Hentschel received the Special Jury Prize of the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (October 5-15) for their film Arte Nuevo de Hacer Ruinas.

The 27th Macedonian International Cinematograhers Film Festival (September 26–October 1) awarded the Bronze Camera 300 to Kolja Brandt, the DoP on Tough Enough [trailer], for his modern camera work.

The Festival du Film Maritime, d’Exploration et d’Environnement in Toulon (September 29-October 8) presented the Special Jury Prize as well as the Audience Award to the documentary Bis zum Anfang der Welt by Roman Teufel.
