Getting ready for the Lolas
by B.P.
17/01/2007 - After two months of deliberations, the Deutsche Filmakademie has finally announced its candidates for the upcoming German Film Awards, the Lolas.
The 15-member pre-selection jury has chosen 24 films, divided into three categories (fiction, documentary and children's films). The titles will compete for 12 prizes up for grabs. Before they do, though, they will undergo further selection, the results of which will be announced on March 16. The German Film Awards “democratic” selection involves three phases.
Worth noting this year is the double nomination of Marcus H. Rosenmüller, who will be presenting his auteur film, a hit at the box office last year, Wer früher stirbt, ist länger tot, as well as his new title Schwere Jungs [trailer], which opens in cinemas tomorrow.
