Kochendörfer joins X Verleih
by Bénédicte Prot
28/02/2007 - On April 1, 2007, Martin Kochendörfer will take over as head of sales, PR and marketing at Berlin-based distribution outfit X Verleih, where he will be working in close collaboration with Manuela Stehr and Stefan Arndt.
Kochendörfer will therefore be leaving Munich-based Concorde Filmverleih GmbH after more than 17 years of loyal service in different functions, including sales director since 1995.
During his time at the outfit, he handled the distribution of Fargo, Rosenstrasse [trailer] and more recent titles, such as Scoop [trailer] and The Queen [trailer, film focus] (see Focus).
Through the network of film professionals and directors he has built up over the past two decades, Kochendörfer will be more than able to promote X Verleih’s activities and plan the outfit’s future.
Surfing on the success of Dani Levy’s My Führer [trailer], X Verleih is now gearing up for the release of Bettina Oberli’s Swiss film Late Bloomers (March 29); Danish helmer Bille August’s Goodbye Bafana [trailer] (April 12), an X Filme Creative Pool co-production that screened in competition at Berlin; Ralf Westhoff’s debut feature Shoppen (May 3); and Sam Gabarski’s Berlin title Irina Palm [trailer, film focus], out in Germany this summer.
