The Slovenian pavilion – the contact point for all Slovenian filmmakers at Cannes presenting finished films or looking for partners for projects in development – will this year also present the Grossman Film and Wine Festival, the third edition of which will take place in Ljutomer in August.

Slovenian cinema will also feature in Cannes’ official All the Cinemas of the World section, through a selection of films chosen by programme director Serge Soboczynski: Suburbs [trailer] (2004) by Vinko Möderndorfer, Gravehopping (2005) by Jan Cvitkovič, Beneath Her Window by Metod Pevec and Blind Spot (2002) by Slak.

The short film programme will include Hop, Skip & Jump by Srdjan Vuletić, (A)torsion by Stefan Arsenijević and Cvitkovič’s The Heart is a Piece of Meat, along with two titles made by students of the Theatre, Radio, Film and Television Academy in Ljubljana – A Half by Slobodan Maksimović and Good Luck, Nedim by Mark Šantić, which was among the 14 finalists for Best European Short Film in 2006.
