New MD at Svensk Filmindustri

29/01/2008 - The Scandinavian giant Svensk Filmindustri (SF) has appointed Tobias Lennér managing director of the group’s Swedish production and distribution operations.
So far, SF’s Swedish operations were managed directly by Rasmus Ramstad, CEO and President of SF Group. But SF’s gradual move over the last decade from being a Swedish to a Nordic company has prompted the group’s decision to appoint a dedicated managing director for the Swedish operations.
“The appointment of Tobias Lennér comes as a natural step in our ambitions to further strengthen the activities in the Nordic territories,” said Ramstad. “The latter years of expansion and the future plans for the company demand more attention to each local marketplace. Therefore, it will be of the utmost importance to have someone head the company’s future activities in the Swedish market.”
Each year, SF produces or co-produces some 25 feature films and television series and distributes 30-40 international features through its operations in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Lennér, who is currently working as managing director for TeliaSonera Partners & Retailers, will take on his new position at SF next April. He will report directly to Ramstad.
