Happy-Go-Lucky, Persepolis win UKFC P&A funds

17/04/2008 - In its latest round of awards, the UK Film Council’s P&A Fund awarded Momentum Pictures £210,000 for Mike Leigh’s character study Happy-Go-Lucky, enabling the release to be widened to 100 prints.

Optimum Releasing received £180,000 for Marjane Satrapi’s animated film Persepolis, allowing the release to be widened to 60 screens. Twentieth Century Fox received £154,000 for Martin Scorsese’s Berlin opening Rolling Stones documentary Shine a Light. Thanks to the award, a live premiere where 98 cinemas across the UK were linked to the Leicester Square premiere was made possible.
