La Vérité ou presque – the third feature by Karman (who won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1992 and an Oscar in 1993 for the film short Omnibus) after Kennedy and I and Nickel and Dime – stars Karin Viard, André Dussollier and François Cluzet. Adapted from the eponymous novel by US writer Stephen McCauley, the film is co-written by the director and Jérôme Beaujour.

This humorous and brilliantly acted comedy about the ups and downs of love subtly explores the ambiguity of feelings and desires, and the fragility of human beings confronted with lies and truth. Well received by critics upon its theatrical release in France last autumn, La Vérité ou presque was produced by Les Films A4 on a budget of €5.32m. This included co-production support from France 2 Cinéma and Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, as well as pre-sales from Canal + and TPS.

International sales are being handled by Films Distribution.
