Cinéfête’s autumn treat for young cinemagoers

11/09/2008 - The eighth Cinéfête tour closed in July, having attracted 126,000 young viewers in over 100 German cities. The ninth edition of this travelling French film festival aimed at German school children is currently getting underway in Oldenburg.
The seven titles presented this year include Luc Jacquet’s The Fox and the Child [trailer], Cédric Kahn’s The Plane, Jean-Pierre Améris’ Call Me Elisabeth [trailer], Didier Bivel’s We Need a Vacation, last year’s Cannes prize-winning animated film Persepolis [trailer, film focus]\ by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, Claude Berri’s Hunting and Gathering [trailer] and François Truffaut’s masterpiece The 400 Blows.
Cinéfête also provides training sessions for teachers and educational packs for class discussions about film. After Oldenburg, the festival will be held in Berlin (late September), Saarbrucken, Potsdam and Leipzig (November), Munich, Weimar, Hamburg (April) and Cologne (May), before wrapping up in Straubing at the end of July 2009.
