Ambra Angiolini takes on an “extreme” role, after playing the cokehead Roberta in Ferzan Ozpetek’s Saturno Contro and the betrayed wife in Cristina Comencini’s Black and White [+see also:

film profile]. In Luciano Melchionna’s Ce n'è per tutti (“There's Enough for Everybody”), she plays "a blond with gelled fingernails, tons of make-up, and my scenes are pretty strong," according to the former child TV star, from the film’s set of the last day of shooting, last Friday.

Co-produced by Medusa and A-Movie, run by Italian-Finnish actress Anna Falchi (who makes a cameo in the film), Ce n'è per tutti is Melchionna’s second feature. He debuted four years ago with Gas, a film on youth violence featuring Lorenzo Balducci, who also stars in this new film, alongside Angiolini, Arnoldo Foà, Stefania Sandrelli, Giorgio Colangeli and Micaela Ramazzotti.

"I changed genres,” said the director, "but maintained the same language as in Gas. Once again, this is a story of young people’s problems in a context between the real and the surreal. I use comedy to deal with deeper subjects".

Written by the director and Luca De Bei, the film tells the story of a young man who climbs up the Coliseum, in a suicide attempt. As friends and relatives run to him, in an attempt to reason with him, they stop for the first time to reflect upon their own lives.

Ce n'è per tutti is scheduled for an autumn release.
