Diverso da Chi? and International coming out

20/03/2009 - While La Matassa by comic duo Ficarra and Picone continues strong at the box office (distributed on 514 screens by Medusa, last weekend it outperformed Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino with €2.6m), today sees the release of another Italian comedy, Diverso da Chi? [trailer], directed by Umberto Carteni and starring Luca Argentero, Claudia Gerini and Filippo Nigro. It is being distributed by Universal on 376 screens (see news).
Mikado is releasing on 100 screens Umberto Spinazzola’s L'Ultimo Crodino [trailer], featuring Enzo Iacchetti and Ricky Tognazzi, which Cineuropa saw in premiere at the festival Per il Cinema Italiano of Bari (see news).
Tom Tykwer’s German/UK/US co-production The International [trailer], featuring Clive Owen and Naomi Watts, is being released on 170 screens by Sony. The film opened the Berlinale in February (see news).
Lucky Red is releasing on 190 sceens prints of the new animated film by Hayao Miyazaki, Ponyo on the Cliff, while 01 Distribution has a 330-print run in store for Ken Kwapis’ US title He's Just Not That Into You with Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson and Ben Affleck.
Lastly, there will be an avant-premiere in the Campania region (on 57 screens) for Marco Risi’s Fortapàsc [trailer] (01 Distribution). The film will be released nationally next weekend (see news).
