Due nuovi premi per il Times BFI LFF

08/10/2009 - Il 53° Times BFI London Film Festival proporrà il 28 ottobre una cerimonia di premiazione che assegnerà due riconoscimenti — Miglior Film e Miglior Esordiente britannico — oltre al Trofeo Sutherland e al Premio Grierson per i documentari.

I vincitori porteranno a casa i nuovi premi Star of London, realizzati dallo scultore Almuth Tebbenhoff. I Premi Fellowship alla carriera andranno quest’anno all’attore britannico John Hurt e al filmmaker di Mali Souleymane Cissé. Hurt ha dichiarato: “Per me, il BFI è il cuore del cinema inglese. Considero il Fellowship il più alto riconoscimento possibile”.

La giuria del Premio al Miglior Film sarà guidata da Anjelica Huston e include John Akomfrah, Jarvis Cocker, Matthieu Kassovitz, Charlotte Rampling e Iain Softley.

La giuria del Sutherland comprende Edgar Wright, Matt Bochenski, Mark Cosgrove, Kerry Fox, Sara Frain, Paul Greengrass, David Parfitt e Gillian Wearing.

Tra i membri della giuria del Premio Miglior Esordiente britannico ci sono Lenny Crooks, responsabile del New Cinema Fund dello UK Film Council, Christine Langan, Direttore creativo di BBC Films, Tessa Ross, Controller di Film4 e delle serie tv a Channel 4, e Tanya Seghatchian, Responsabile del Development Fund dello UK Film Council e produttore esecutivo di Harry Potter.

La giuria del Grierson è composta da Nick Broomfield, Molly Dineen, Ellen Fleming e Christo Hird.
