Lucky Red is celebrating 25 years of quality-film distribution. Alongside Key Films, the company has been able to confront the market with intelligence, diversifying the offer. The list therefore offers arthouse and commercial films such as Abbas Kiarostami’s Like Someone in Love; Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom and Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring to Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, Scary Movie 5, Astérix and Obélix: God Save Britannia and Jaume Balagueró’s Sleep Tight.
The founder of Lucky Red, Andrea Occhipinti, believes in the future of digital platforms. "Now, we are paying more attention to film acquisitions. We want to focus on theatre releases, but the margins are reducing, also because there are fewer exhibitors accepting a certain type of product. We believe in the evolution of VOD and in the development of themed digital channels to find space for quality films."
