Cineuropa met Bosnian filmmaker Aida Begic at the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival, where her second feature Children of Sarajevo was being shown in competition. The film, set in modern-day Sarajevo, is a intimate, harsh, but hopeful portrait of a young woman who grew up during the war. Now grown up, she must face more personal battles.
Children of Sarajevo was awarded the Cineuropa Prize at the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival after a Un Certain Regard Special mention at Cannes.
