VIRGIL

by Mabrouk el Mechri

synopsis

Each week, Virgil makes his father Ernest dream by telling him of his boxing exploits during prison visiting hours. Each week, Virgil dreams when trading gazes with Margot, a young woman who also comes to visit someone in jail. This week, Ernest tells Virgil that he'll be out soon and will at last be able to see his son in the ring again. There's just one small hitch: Virgil hasn't boxed for three years.
