synopsis

Set in the 1600s, the true story of a peasant woman who lived in an isolated cave in the Val di Non. Accused of witchcraft by the townspeople, she is taken to the Palazzo Nero, where under torture she admits her guilt. Condemned to death, she is burnt at the stake in the town's square.
