ASHES OF GOD

by Andre Semenza

synopsis

It is the first contemporary dance film to be shot in Brazil. In the atmospheric ruins of an abandoned once grandiose city, Ribeirao Vermelho in Minas Gerais, the film follows a woman, Helo, entering a world of memory fragments, where several characters, perhaps 'trapped souls', are living and re-living 'karmic' moments in an unspecified past, until their circumstance is transmuted by Helo's arrival.
