OLD IS THE NEW

by Mirko Bischofberger, Dario Bischofberger

synopsis

Jessye, a young and modern Chinese woman, is sent to a small village in southern Italy to investigate the touristic potential of the region. Initially, her sole contact is Franco, a solitary farmer who tends to his animals in the countryside and rents his rooms. Through the villagers, Jessye gradually learns more about the local traditions, now threatened by her presence, and having to face the invasion of the present-day expansionist tourism industry.
