Teenagers Glen and Joe let Tin Man, the local tramp, take the rap after they accidentally kill Joe's girlfriend, Jenny. 14 years later, Tin Man is released from prison and a girl, Nicky, turns up. Nicky is a dead ringer for Jenny, and when Joe sees her, the guilt that has haunted him for so long turns into full-blown paranoia. Glen has to do everything he can to keep him quiet. But the enigmatic Sergeant Bracchi is sure that the real story was never told all those years ago, and sets out to uncover it.
