THE STONE RAFT

by George Sluizer

synopsis

One day, following an earthquake not registered by a single seismograph, a massive crack suddenly appears in the earth's crust along the border between Spain and France. The Iberian Peninsula is set adrift and, having been borne hither and thither on the Atlantic Ocean, embarks on an unshakeable westward course, floating like a gigantic stone raft. All that is left behind is Gibraltar, perched lonely on its rock.
