synopsis

Hamburg, mid 80’s, Alex is a cabby because she can’t decide what to do with her life. The Music is hard, pubs are dark and loud. People argue about anything and everything, people constantly smoke – not just cigarettes. Alex is looking for love and freedom and she sleeps with Dietrich – the sex is ok, but it’s far from being love. With Marc, however, a short man of great dignity, she finds more. The passengers she drives are drunks, ignorants and other misfits. She could go on like this forever, or – she could drive away, and leave it all behind her. In doing so, she would lose Marc and not get rid of Dietrich. A little monkey, who shares her desire for freedom, intervenes…
