SONGBIRD
by Jamie Adams
synopsis
Joanne poster girl and lead singer of once popular 90s britpop band The Filthy Dukes is now playing to small, half empty venues. When her boyfriend Larry cheats on her, it’s the last straw and the band break up in spectacular fashion. Embarking on a wild night out with her best friend Sara, Joanna wakes to find that she has somehow drunkenly enrolled at university. Convinced that she is going to give the youngsters a run for their money in the partying department Joanne is shocked to discover that Millennials have no idea who she is and are far more into yoga and kale smoothies than crazy rock & roll parties. A feel good comedy about love, life and the search for new beginnings.
