CODY: THE DOG DAYS ARE OVER

by Martin Skalsky

synopsis

A young family adopts the Romanian street dog Cody to Switzerland. They rapidly grow fond of Cody, changing their lives and opening up a new world: the coexistence of humans and animals. In search of the traces of his past, the family learns more about life in Romania that Cody has left behind. He was there with the stray dog Blanche in freedom, but also in constant danger of dying. What happens when he is confronted with his past and sees his companion again? Cody's fate leads to important issues of our time: How do people deal with their environment, especially with animals – and are they willing to grant them rights?
