synopsis

Nicola Gammarota, an unpretentious man with a provincial and conventional mind, who emigrated from the South up to Northern Italy forty years ago,enjoys a moderate wealth as a producer of soft cheese mozzarella. Having been accepted, with some sacrifices and compromises, in the Piedmontese high society, Nicola has never told anybody of his brother Francesco, whom he has shamefully refused to meet again after that day of forty years ago when this well respected high school teacher publicly declared his homosexuality in front of all the town people...
