REVOLVER

by Guy Ritchie

synopsis

Hanging around hoodlums has landed Jake Green, an inveterate gambler and professional con man, in jail - for seven years, taking the rap for a dangerous boss, Dorothy Macha. After he’s released, Jake becomes an unbeatable gambler, thanks to a formula he’s been taught by two mysterious cellmates. He’s ready to take revenge. Entangled in a gang war with her merciless rival, Lord John, Dorothy is banking on a drug deal with the all-powerful Sam Gold to maintain her credibility. When Jake visits Dorothy in her casino, he humiliates her in public during a game of chance. She sets her men after him, but he’s saved by the enigmatic Zack who, with his equally mysterious associate, Avi, offers to protect him. Skeptical, Jake at first turns down their offer, but when he discovers that he’s only got three days left to live, he no longer has a choice. He finds himself in the middle of a risky and dangerous game. But often the greatest danger lurks there where you least expect it.
