synopsis

For Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann she was the centre of the world: Clara Schumann. In the year 1950 the famous pianist and composer Clara Schumann moves to Düsseldorf with her husband Robert and their children. After many strenuous years on tour Robert wants to accept a position as municipal director of music there. But after her concert in Hamburg Clara meets the 14 years younger Johannes Brahms, whose talent fascinates both her and her husband. Yet Brahms falls not only under the spell of Clara’s virtuosity on the piano…
