Neven Hitrec

(Zagreb, 1967) graduated film and tv direction at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, and directed numerous documentaries and commercials. His work has been recognised by the nation’s highest honor, the Vladimir Nazor Award, in 1993.

His documentaries Hall Room (1993) and 730 Days Later (1993) have been screened in New York in 1996 as part of an all-time retrospective of the best Croatian films, and during the same year a selection of his documentaries has been shown at the New York Gallery of Modern Art. His feature Mother of God (1998) won Grand Prix and the Best Actor and Actress awards at the Pula Film Festival. (www.havc.hr)
