Born in Madrid in 1950, he has started his career as a screenwriter and film critic before shooting his first feature film in 1995, Nadie Hablará de Nosotras Cuando Hayamos Muerto (Nobody Will Speak of Us After We Die) which won 8 Goya Awards including Best Film.
