Brigitte Maria Bertele
Born in Ulm, Germany in 1974 Brigitte Maria Bertele studied acting at the Ulm Academy for Performing Arts, at the Graduate Acting Department of New York University and at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in Moscow.
In 2002, after working in theatres across Germany, she enrolled in documentary directing at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Film Academy. Her first documentary, Horizon Zone (2004) won "best documentary" at the Bianco Film Festival in Italy.
Among her other recent films: A Hero's Welcome (2008), Berggorillas (2009) and a segment of 24 Hours Berlin (2009).
