Political thriller for Martinelli

Renzo Martinelli made a name for himself as a socially committed film director and after Vajont, he has turned once more to contemporary Italian history for inspiration for his latest film, a thriller based on the tragic kidnapping and subsequent murder by the Red Brigades of politician, Aldo Moro. Marinelli co-wrote the screenplay for Piazza delle cinque lune (The Square of the Five Moons) with Fabio Campus and the film went into its eleven-week production period during the recent Palio in Siena although the overwhelming majority of the scenes will be shot in Rome starting August 26. The film has an impressive international cast headed by Donald Sutherland, F. Murray Abraham, Giancarlo Giannini and Stefania Rocca.
