Ascot Elite returns to production
After a long interlude devoted solely to distribution, Ascot Elite Entertainment Group is resuming its production activities.
Founded in 1952, Elite Filmproduktion AG has produced over 300 films. However, the company now intends to move away from Erwin C. Dietrich’s "action" and "soft erotic" genres – with which it made its name in the 1970s and 1980s with cult titles such as Come Play With Me 2 and Code Name: Wild Geese – to focus on projects by more diverse Swiss directors.
The company is thus developing varied productions, including Güzin Kar’s Der letzte Penalty, Mike Eschmann’s Hooligans and Simon Aeby’s horror thriller Dead Weight, which will star Stellan Skarsgard, Romola Garai, Nils Althaus and Joel Basman.
