10th Mega Plus kicks off in Ronda mountains

by

On Wednesday, June 3, the tenth edition of the Masters in European Audiovisual Management, better known as Mega Plus, starts in Ronda (Malaga). This is the flagship course of the Media Business School, one of the most important training centres in Europe, and its aim, according to Director of Activities José Garasinos, is to “create a generation of producers and audiovisual managers who will be able to strengthen and expand the quality of the European industry”.

With 14 weeks of classroom-based teaching “by professionals, for professionals”, followed by no less than six months of practical training in leading companies, Mega Plus does not adopt the strategy of widely-spaced seminars.

After a three-year hiatus, during which there was time to reflect on the state of the sector and adapt courses accordingly, Mega Plus returns with renewed vigour. They are also aware, as Garasinos confirms, that “the industry has undergone tremendous change in the last five years,” where, despite the growing demand for content, “the main problem is reaching out to audiences”.

For this reason, Garasinos says, the Masters will offer “more inclusive training, which covers not only film and television, but also new digital media and new audiovisual production methods. This year, we’ll host courses by experts in video games, digital production, multi-platform production, video on demand, development and financing of digital content, traditional animation and 3D film, as well as offering our usual modules in development, production, funding and distribution”.

Many industry professionals are graduates of the Masters course, having built up a “network of contacts and business relations” in the beautiful mountain setting of Ronda, strategically situated between the international airports of Seville and Malaga.

Media Business School is supported by the MEDIA Programme, the Spanish Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (ICAA), the Autonomous Region of Andalucia and the Schleswig-Holstein region.
