On the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11’s memorable landing on the moon, the second phase of shooting begins on an impossible love story set in the period of the Space Race between superpowers the USSR and the US.

(“The First Night of the Moon”) by Massimo Guglielmi is based on the eponymous short story by Cinzia Tani, from the collection entitled Amori Crudeli.

The film centres on the relationship between a Jewish, Eastern Europe immigrant in America and an enchanting young Russian woman who dreams of becoming a cosmonaut and walking on the moon.

The cast includes the young Russian actress Lyanka Gryu alongside Branko Djuric (from Danis Tanovic’s Oscar-winning film No Man’s Land [+see also:
