Cyron Melville named Best Actor in Montreal

This year’s Danish Shooting Star, Cyron Melville (interview) has won his biggest accolade to date: Best Actor, at the 33rd Montreal World Film Festival that ended on Monday.

Melville won the award for his convincing performance in Morten Giese’s drama Love & Rage in which he plays a pianist whose darker inner self comes to the surface through an obsessive love affair. The directorial debut of the established Danish editor Giese was produced by Zentropa.

In October, Love & Rage will screen at the Hamptons International Film Festival in the US where Cyron Melville will participate in European Film Promotion's Shooting Star Tour, a programme that includes meetings in New York with US casting directors.
