"Here Comes Lola!" gets big-screen treatment
Shooting is underway in Hamburg and the surrounding area on the new children’s film by producer Uschi Reich of Bavaria Filmproduktion, who was behind TKKG and The Wild Chicks series.
Hier Kommt Lola! (“Here Comes Lola!”) is helmed by director Franziska Buch, with whom Reich previously collaborated on Emil and the Detectives (2000) and Bibi Blocksberg and the Secret of the Blue Owls (2004).
Adapted by screenwriter Vanessa Walder from "Here Comes Lola!" (the first volume in Isabel Abedi’s series of best-selling novels), Hier Kommt Lola! centres on a little girl in search of a best friend. Lola is played by young actress Meira Durand, while Julia Jensch, Nora Tschirner and Axel Prahl fill out the adult cast.
The film is produced by Bavaria Distribution and Production, in co-production with Constantin Film and Kiddinx. Its domestic release is scheduled for March 4, 2010.
