FESTIVALS Switzerland

Swiss world premieres at Namur

by

A mecca for filmmakers and producers from French-speaking countries, the Namur International Francophone Film Festival (October 2-9) is this year hosting world premières of two Swiss films: Bazar, the new work by Genevan director Patricia Plattner (A Little Colour), starring Bernadette Lafont and Lou Doillon; and Jean-Laurent Chautems’ debut feature No Longer There.

Meanwhile, Berni Goldblat’s Swiss documentary The Hillside Crowd will vie for the Golden Bayard in official competition. The film depicts the daily life of inhabitants in a makeshift town created near a gold mine in Burkina Faso.
